Junglefy. Urban space comes to life

What are the advantages of Junglefy's Green Roof system?

Accredited Green Roof Installer - Junglefy is an accredited green roof designer and installer (Green Roofs Australia GR101 Green Roof Design and Installation) with skills in irrigation, waterproofing and horticulture. Junglefy also has the appropriate in-house quality assurance systems, OH&S, professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

-   Natural growing media - All of the components of our growing media are 100% natural and environmentally sustainable. Due to the absence of any harmful chemicals storm water run offs may be harvested and re-used

-    Lightweight - Our system is lightweight thereby allowing retrofitting of existing roofs. The approximate saturated weight of our roof system is 50-60kg/m2 for each 100mm.

-    Water wise - Our green roof system has built in moisture sensors that ensure irrigation is only delivered when needed.  This not only saves water but also reduces the weight of the roof and also reduces evaporation and weed growth.

-   Advanced irrigation system - Our irrigation system is considered world's best practice and the patented technology ensures even reticulation across the whole media.  Traditional systems tend to create wet patches around the dripper emitter and hence limited root systems.

-   Improved Drainage - Junglefy Green Roof system provides more effective drainage than conventional systems because it has the capacity to create suction on water held in the lower part of the soil profile. In contrast to this, soils over conventional drainage systems have a saturated layer at the bottom which is referred to as a capillary fringe which can result in:
      (1) Dead weight that the roof may not be able to sustain;
      (2) Plant mortality; and
      (3) Degeneration of the planting.

-    Easy Re-wetting - Our growing media does not include bark chip which is known to make a growing media water repellent over time.  You will most likely have seen water repellence in potting mix when the water runs out the bottom of the pot but the soil is still dry.  This can be especially problematic on a rooftop as it can lead to roots drying out and water running off the surface causing erosion and flooding.
