Can I install Junglefy green wall onto my existing wall?
Yes. Our green wall design allows for the retrofitting to existing walls. Check with your builder or engineer to assess the suitability of your particular wall. Some waterproofing will generally be required depending on what the wall is made of.
How much does the system weigh?
The weight of the system is approximately 70kg/m2.
How big are the modules?
Each module is 547mm (h) x 336mm (d) x 130mm (d)
How do the plants stay in the panels?
The growing media is contained in a bag within the growing module. The plants roots are inserted into the growing bag which holds them in place. As the roots of the plants develop they further secure the plant in the module.
What types of plants can be installed in the wall?
This will depend on the aspect of the wall but we have researched and tested a large number of suitable plants species.
Does every opening in the module need to be planted?
The type of plants chosen will influence this decision. As with traditional gardening you need to consider the mature size of the plant to avoid overcrowding and competition. If planting herbs or smaller plants then every opening can be planted.
How do the modules attach to a wall?
Our patented green wall system allows for the easy installation and removal of modules. Screws are used to secure the modules in place but they do not support the weight of the modules.
How are the plants in the wall fed?
The plants are fed by an automated hydroponic system that has a reservoir with pH and nutrient dosing metres to ensure reliable and accurate feeding. This recirculating system ensures optimum water efficiency.
Does Junglefy offer a green wall maintenance service?
Yes. We have a number of qualified horticulturists who are trained to maintain green walls.
How much maintenance is involved to keep the wall looking its best?
The amount of maintenance involved is similar to that of a traditional garden. Plants will need to be pruned and nutrients topped up. A maintenance plan is supplied with all green wall installations.
What is the warranty on the green wall system?
The components of the green wall modules are warranted for 10 years against normal wear and tear. An eight (8) week maintenance and warranty period comes as standard on all Junglefy installations with respect to plants and growing media.
Can the walls be installed inside?
Yes. We have successfully installed a number of green walls in offices. These walls need supplemental lighting and the right choice of plants that can withstand the dryer air created by air-conditioning.
